When you’re old enough to remember fashion the first time around

I remember the first time mid-riffs were in fashion and I remember being angry… very angry. Why do we encourage such an inequitable fashion? Only those with flat, tanned, un-muffin top stomachs were able to bare their mid-riffs with any sort of self-respect. But these days, girls don’t seem to care. A bit of bum cleavage, even those buns that could do with a little bum push-up bra, seems to be totes appropes (read: totally acceptable). Flabby stomach? Hang it out there, for everyone to see the doughnuts and frozen coke you had for breakfast (I would never eat anything like that of course, especially not when  hung over). While I applaud girls these days for their body confidence, I still hate mid-riffs. But I also hated sunflower print, spaghetti straps and chunky white plastic shoes the first time around, so maybe I’m just a hater. And haters gonna hate. haters

Ha ha Caroline. I had a moment like this the other week when I saw those mesh black chocker necklaces come back in store (do you know the ones I mean?)… It felt like the return of the 90s!
